Installing Drush for developing Drupal-site is a must-have for each developer.

Drush is a command line scripting interface for Drupal. By using a lot of useful commands, you can interact with code like modules, themes, profiles.
You can run update.php, execute sql-queries, clear the cache and a lot more!

Since we can get started now with developing Drupal 8 sites it's necessary to have Drush 8 installed. Drush 8 is compatible with Drupal 6, 7 and 8.
Drush 8 needs PHP 5.4.5 or higher to be installed.

Creating patches with git diff

After changing files of a module, you can create a patch-file. In the patch-file only the changes will be saved.

Patch-files can be easily made with the git diff command. First add the changed files to your local repository. After executing the git diff command, a file with the changes will be created.

git diff > filename.patch

The patch-file can be applied by other persons, so it's a goo idea to share it on Drupal.org

Panel-layout stuck at 99% width

Submitted by Stijn Stroobants on Tue, 05/27/2014 - 17:57

Hi,

I'm using Panels for building up my pages, but today I discovered a strange problem. The width of my total panel is 99%. Why it is 99% and not the full 100%?

After searching a lot I came out to the solution, it's just a setting on the Layout of the panel. 99% width is a fix they did for Internet Explorer 6. Almost nobody is using IE6 anymore, so we turn of this strange fix.

On the canvas-settings of your Panel-layout you can uncheck: "Scale fluid widths for IE6".
